Estudio del revestimiento de taludes aguas arriba en las presas de tierra del proyecto Pacalori
(2014) Guamán Mendoza, Daniel Eduardo; Verdugo Gallegos, Jessica Paola; Armas Novoa, Rolando
This research indicates the design methodology with respect to the types of surface protection for upstream slopes mostly used as homogeneous earthfill dam, protection with dumped rock riprap and protection with articulated concrete slabs. For the dumped rock riprapis designed the maximum stone weight, maximum stone diameter and the thickness of the riprap layer as a function of wave intensity, by means of the calculation process from the Cuban Experience. The minimum stone weight is determined by the calculation method included in the book “Presas de Tierra y Enrocamiento” written by Raúl Marsal and Daniel Reséndiz. In the articulated concrete slabsis determined the total pressures diagram generated by the wave action and the sub-pressure diagram generated by a reservoir drawdown; slab thickness is designed to satisfy stability criteria (drag and flotation). After obtaining the total pressures diagram, the maximum moment to which the articulated concrete slabs are subjected is determined and subsequently, an analysis of simple bending determines the steel reinforcement. All results obtained are compared with recommendations given by various authors and international institutions.
