    Perfil socio sanitario y condiciones de trabajo vinculadas con la prostitución. Azogues, 2017.

    Background: sex work is a global phenomenon that transcends boundaries of time and space. In Ecuador, prostitution is a frequent option for people from marginal social sectors. Misery, violence and abuse are the doors of entry, the majority of women who practice sex work come from poor economic strata and have low levels of education. Objective: to determine the social health profile and work conditions related to prostitution. Azogues, 2017. Method and materials: it is a cross-sectional descriptive observational study with analysis of psychosocial and health factors; where the technique used was the observation and the instrument the survey to collect the information of the sex workers city Azogues. The results are presented by means of frequencies and percentages through tables and graphs. Results: of a total of 50 sex workers surveyed, 62% correspond to the adolescent and young adult population; 12% to the group of mature adults; 46% correspond to the single group, while 32% are in free union. 30% come from abroad, mainly from the neighboring countries of Peru and Colombia. In addition, 78% have a single-parent family, and as a point to highlight 66% consume alcohol and 2% report the consumption of narcotic substances. Conclusion: the sex workers population of the city of Azogues presents a socio-sanitary and work profile similar to that described qualitatively in some studies.
