    Prevalencia de malnutrición por exceso de peso y factores asociados en pacientes de 20 a 64 años en la Parroquia Manuel de J. Calle del Cantón La Troncal 2017-2018

    Introduction: Malnutrition due to excess weight is a metabolic disorder associated with multiple risk factors with high prevalence in Ecuador. Objective: to determine the prevalence of malnutrition due to weight excess and associated factors in patients with 20 to 64 years old in the parish of Manuel de J. Calle del Cantón la Troncal 2017- 2018. Materials and methods: Observational, analytical, cross-sectional study carried out in parish of Manuel de J. Calle of La Troncal Canton la. The sample was of 309 patients from 20 to 64 years, chosen by random sampling. Data collection was performed using previously validated forms for the variables sedentary lifestyle, family structure, FF-SIL for family function measurement, assessment of body mass index to assess nutritional status, Hamilton scale for anxiety and depression, analyzed through the statistical program SPSS. Results: The prevalence of overweight was 38.51% and obesity of 36.89%, the largest proportion of participants were women with 73.1%, the variables that behaved as factors for malnutrition due to excess weight were sex female PR = 2.09 p = 0.007, older than 45 years PR = 3.332 p<0,001, live together in pairs PR = 2.03 p = 0.017, have depressive symptoms PR = 2.44 p=0.013, have a history of family obesity PR = 1.73 p=0.042 and sedentary lifestyle PR = 2.43 (p = 0.002). Conclusion: The prevalence of malnutrition due to excess weight of the present population is high and it was associated with the female sex, being over 45 years old, living together as a couple, depressive symptoms, family history of obesity and sedentary lifestyle.
