    Prevalencia de displasia de cadera en desarrollo diagnosticadas por radiología convencional en niños/as de 0 a 12 meses del Hospital "Homero Castnier Crespo"- Azogues, enero - diciembre 2013

    Objective: To determine the prevalence of developing hip dysplasia diagnosed by conventional radiology in children 0-12 months of Hospital "Homero Castanier Crespo" - Azogues January to December 2013. Material and Methods: A retrospective study was performed in children of 0-12 months who presented to Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, in the January-December 2013 period, conventional radiographs performed hips. The sample size was 140 patients. The processing and analysis of the results was performed in SPSS v21 and the pictures were developed in Excel. Result: according to the analysis, as radiology reports, it was noted that of the 140 patients that the study was conducted, 103 corresponding to 73.6 % presented hip dysplasia, 68% of them are women and 32 % men. Whose average age is between 5.53 months. Regarding the laterality of dysplasia, left hip is the most affected by the disease with a percentage of 50.5%. According to Shenton Lines 100% reported being asymmetrical in patients with hip dysplasia and relating the location of the femoral 48.5% nuclei are present in the medial inferior quadrant. Conclusion: Through the study the prevalence of hip dysplasia was determined by conventional radiography, it is high (73.6%), according to radiology reports of Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo.
