Propuesta metodológica para la creación de cápsulas de aprendizaje para adultos mayores
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-04-16) Gomez Jaramillo, Daniel Eduardo; Cedillo Orellana, Irene Priscila
Education is a universal process that acts on humans throughout their existence, including their ageing stage. In this sense, older adults can learn, communicate, and exchange information through technological applications. However, learning platforms often do not consider specific requirements and special needs of the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to have technological methods and tools that allow the creation of software artifacts, so that this population sector can acquire knowledge according to their learning needs. In contrast to the considerations presented, this work proposes a method for creating learning capsules for older adults, applying concepts of Software Engineering, with instructional aspects in microlearning field. For this approach, a systematic review of literature with an emphasis on technologies, methods, and tools in this area is presented in advance, with the aim of highlighting the current state of research. In addition, to show the use of this proposal, the creation of a learning capsule is presented, which indicates general measures for the prevention of COVID-19 in older adults. This capsule has been represented by means of a mobile application. Finally, two empirical evaluations have been carried out through a quasi-experiment aimed at Software Engineers and a case study aimed at older adults, with the aim of analyzing user perceptions about the methodology and the learning capsule built respectively, obtaining promising results.
