Item Análisis Y Sistematización Del Medio Incidentes Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2026-01-20) Sisalima Cadmelema, Mario Santiago; Garate Andrade, Wilson OrlandoThe work addressed the analysis and systematization of a media outlet, using the communication venture “Incidentes Cuenca” as a case study. The central issue related to the need to design a growth and positioning plan in a highly competitive social media environment. The overall objective was to structure expansion and consolidation strategies, while the specific objectives focused on analyzing audience demands, applying the Canvas Model, and evaluating digital interaction. The results showed that “Incidentes Cuenca” established itself as a high-impact citizen media outlet, although it required verification protocols and content diversification to strengthen its sustainability. Among the most relevant authors reviewed were Becerra (2014), Cruz (2012), Ramos (2023), and Díaz de León & De la Garza-Montemayor (2023), who contributed to the analysis of digital communication and its challenges.Item Competencias mediáticas en los estudiantes de la carrera de periodismo y comunicacion de la Universidad de Cuenca en el año 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-21) González Barros, Héctor; Garate Andrade, Wilson OrlandoThis study reviews the history of Media and Information Literacy, its emergence and evolution, up to the great field of knowledge it is today for the professional practice of communication, describing in detail the current information technology tools and the human skills needed to critically evaluate information. In the special case of journalism professionals, media competences required by their profession are analyzed, as well as the types of journalism, according to the nature of the information. Finally, the level of literacy and media competences of the students of the Communication and Journalism majors at the University of Cuenca, is evaluated through a survey designed based on the dimensions proposed by Ferrés & Piscitelli (2012) and applied to a sample of 131 participants, then enriched with the analysis of an interview applied to six teachers.Item Vulneración de derechos: libertad de expresión, de lo laboral y protección en periodistas de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-10) Hidalgo Tuquiñagui, Tamara Noemi; Peralta Guachichullca, Henry Gustavo; Garate Andrade, Wilson OrlandoThe following degree: Infringement of rights: Speech freedom of labor aspect and protection to journalists of Cuenca has analyzed two main events, such as: the outcry on October 2019, in which there were assaults, censure, and bias according to the broadcast emitted. On the other hand, in accordance with the Fundamedios organization until the month of December 2021, pandemic COVID-19 left 35 dead journalists, due to lack of execution of biosafety protocols. At the same time 700 fires from work were counted by the organization. The study of this degree work emerges from a qualitative methodology with gathering information through interviews and remarks. The existence of infringement of rights was manifested to the communicators despite the existence of Organic Law of Communication, which guarantees protection to the journalists in their freedom of tasks. In conclusion, the matter of communication is limited to ideological interests of the media, such as: political, economical, and personal aspects. The labor guarantees were not appropriate to practice the profession safely
