Resilience refers to a person's ability to overcome difficult situations and adapt to them, while family functioning is about how family members interact to face crises at home. Therefore, there is an important relationship between the family system and the capacity for resilience, given that the more resources the family has, the higher the level of resilience of its members. The objective of this research is to describe resilience, family functionality, and their relationship with sociodemographic variables (sex, age, and academic cycle) in dentistry students at the University of Cuenca. The study will have a quantitative approach, with a on-experimental descriptive design. The target population consists of 400 students, and the following instruments will be used: a sociodemographic record, the Individual Resilience Scale EEA, and the Brief Family Functioning Scale FACES 20esp. The expected results include the characterization of students according to sociodemographic variables and their relationship with individual resilience levels and family functionality.
