    The quality of care in a hospital service is a subject of much controversy, criticism, comments and discrepancies between health workers and users, hence this research work attempts to address it from the point of view of the patients and their families, in the department of Internal Medicine Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital of Cuenca, during the months of April, May and June 2004. The objective was to analyze the problems affecting the quality of care provided to external users and is based on the satisfaction of the same. To carry out this research we use methods such as direct observation and surveys of patients and their families that assess the quality of care from their point of view, because they are involved in direct or indirect form respectively. The results were duly tabulated, analyzed and interpreted using charts and graphs. Therefore the quality of care in many of these aspects, such as humane treatment, attention to time due information about their condition, etc, are not met, then there is a clear dissatisfaction by external users; if we talk about infrastructure and basic quipo hospital, especially for such an important department as Internal Medicine, it concludes that there is an unquestionable deterioration and even obsolete objects that do not provide the necessary guarantees for the patient
