Accesibilidad para personas con discapacidad visual en hoteles boutique de la ciudad de Cuenca. Análisis de casos: Hotel Mansión Alcázar y Hotel Santa Lucía

The present investigation is an analysis of accessibility for people with visual disabilities in Boutique Hotels in the city of Cuenca, for this had been selected two cases:MansiónAlcázar Hotel and SantaLucía Hotel. It was based on the "Guide to accessibility for people with visual disabilities" done by ONCE. This work consisted in a fieldwork, where each area from the hotels was studied following the parameters established in the guide, usinga rating system fulfill or non-fulfill. At the end of the investigation it was determined that Mansion Alcazar Hotel has a degree of accessibility of 70%, while Santa Lucia Hotel reaches 80% accessibility.

Nowadays, the tourism industry has become one of the most important sectors for the country's economy; however, adequate planning and management is needed to achieve its sustainable development. Hotel activity should implement an environmental management system to help promote care for nature and well-being of the local community. If a hotel establishment were to implement more sustainable practices, it would make great profits for both the company and the population. Currently the Live the Life and Aventura Park inns have chosen to introduce into their infrastructure some sustainability measures that help reduce the environmental impact on the sector, as well as to improve their profitability and avoid unnecessary or excessive expenses. That is why this graduation work aims to carry out a comparative analysis of the application of good sustainable tourism practices in Live the Life and Aventura Park inns in canton Giron of the province of Azuay, according to the Rainforest Alliance Guide of the year 2005, in addition, the percentages of compliance in each of the areas of sustainability and a thorough analysis for each criterion that this guide addresses will be known.

The issue of sustainability in the hotel industry is currently growing, due to an increase in demand for tourists committed to the care and protection of the environment, therefore, the research work herein is based on the "Comparative Analysis of Sustainable Management in the Hostería Sol del Valle and Chorro de Girón," consequently, it is necessary to perform some research of the tourist and hotel activity at Girón canton, in addition, a study of the main characteristics of the above mentioned inns will be carried out, through an analysis of the hotel cadaster of Azuay 2019 and interviews with proprietors. For analyzing the inns sustainable management, the Guide to Good Practices for Sustainable Tourism is taken as reference in order to make known the benefits of applying the guide in the fields: business, socio-cultural and environmental, once this analysis has been prepared, the comparison will be made between the Sol del Valle and Chorro de Girón inns in order to generate proposals for improvement for a good sustainable practice.

Quality is a determining aspect, and that is why there are systems that allow it to be controlled. One of the most important references is the ISO 9001 standard, being the 2015 version the most recent. However, not all companies use this international standard; such is the case of the Four Points by Sheraton Cuenca hotel, currently run by the GHL brand, which applies its own quality management system. The creation of ISO 9001 took eight years, the idea was raised in 1979 and was approved during a meeting of the organization in 1987. These guidelines arose from the need to control processes within manufacturing companies. Quality management systems designed under this standard are based on seven principles. On the other hand, the Londoño Group from 1991 began to design its own quality management system. To a large extent it was due to its internationalization to the different countries of Latin America, since it was necessary to control the processes that were developed in each establishment under its charge. The GHL Hotels brand based its ideas on the systems that were developed in international chains such as: Sheraton, Sonesta and Radisson, among others. The purpose of this research project is to develop a comparative analysis between the SICA System of GHL Hotels and the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The results will determine whether the SICA system produces the same results on quality issues as ISO 9001.

This is a work that has as basis an on-site investigation in the environmental area; specifically, in a restaurant in the city of Cuenca. This work establishes the parameters upon which a mitigating proposal is being elaborated to deal with wrong environmental practices. The object of study is a bar-restaurant named Sports Planet, located in the commercial center Millennium Plaza. This is a thematic restaurant of Tex Mex food focused on sports in general. It’s been decided to study and to identify in which way the daily routine activities are being conducted in order to discern whether these activities are being respectful of the environment and are aiding in its preservation. The investigation is divided in four sections. Each section deals with a different topic of analysis, and even thought their different each section builds on the investigation as a whole. The first part is developed upon a general study by the Commission of Environmental Management of the City of Cuenca, its background, its duties and objectives, and the environmental policy it conducts; these points will draw the guidelines that will drive our investigation. The restaurant has been divided in two areas in order to facilitate its analysis. The first area is the administrative part that will be discussed in the second section of this dissertation. It is in this latter part where the erroneous environmental practices, which take place in the daily routine of the restaurant, will be identified. In the same manner and following the same scheme, the environmental problems that are being generated in the operative area will be identified in the third section of this investigation. Finally, we will give our critical point of view about the management of the daily activities of the restaurant. This will be done on the fourth part of this investigation. In addition to this constructive criticism, a manual for good environmental practices will be proposed. The objectives of this manual will be the lowering of environmental contamination and the conscientization of the employees about respect for nature.

The analysis of Good Practices application in sustainable tourism aimed at 10 craft workshops in Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos Province, 2019, has shown that most crafts do not have the necessary tools for the fulfillment of a true sustainable development as to allow efficient savings of energy and water resources and an appropriate awareness of their employees related to, social and cultural and environmental issues, which is why this analysis is necessary, because it is a tool that allows artisans to adopt sustainable management practices, in a simple and effective way. Based on principles that aim to minimize negative impacts and maximize the benefits of the activity in the socio-cultural, environmental and business environment. That is why the Rainforest Alliance's Sustainable Tourism Best Practices guide is a source of development for several companies; its importance lies in sustainable development, generating a greater conservation and resource preservation impact obtaining economic and social benefits.

The analysis of the sustainable management that was applied in the Hostería Dos Chorreras, is based on the Guide of Good Practices for Sustainable Tourism of the Rainforest Alliance; where the greatest importance in the hotel business is based on sustainable development being the one in charge of properly managing natural resources without causing greater impact and that does not harm the environment, generating economic and social benefits, applying continuous effort to integrate three sustainable principles; environmental, economic and social. The lodge does not have the necessary tools for the fulfillment of a true sustainable development, that allows the efficient saving of the energetic resource, hydric and a suitable conscience to its employees related to environmental, social and cultural subjects; that is why the need arises to develop an analysis on a correct sustainable management applying the Guide of Good Practices for sustainable tourism, which is a tool that allows tourist entrepreneurs to adopt sustainable management practices, in a simple and effective way. Tourism is a big business, is one of the most important economic areas of the world and in lot of zones, the only principal source of inversion and employment. Ecuador has innumerable zones with a big touristic attractive that stand out because of the varied culture and big biodiversity. The city of Gualaceoconcentrate inside all the unimaginable touristic beauty: colonial architecture, historic richness, cultural traditions, extreme sports, natural reserves, craft activities, and traditional gastronomy. Gualaceo city is one of the most important touristic attractive of the Azuay province, because of the location has special climate and landscapes, unique in the region. The population work as farmers and livestock, that at the beginning it was considered as the most important income source, but because of the skills of the people to make handicrafts and typical manufactures and the permanent affluence of tourists make it an important income nowadays because of the quality. The Gastronomy initiate with the appearance of the man in the Earth, and with this a attractive to visit a particular destiny.the cultivation of several products as well, which in this moment the people eat it alone or raw, but the invention of the fire initiate the evolution and creation to satisfy the food needs, and nowadays it becomes an important commercial and touristic development

Canton Limon Indanza is located in the province of Morona Santiago at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level, with a temperature ranging between 18-24 degrees centigrade, at a distance of 110 kilometers from the capital city of Macas, and at 105 kilometers from Cuenca city. Limón Indanza is a geographical area that has a variety of touristic attractions, both natural and cultural, whose growth is based on the adequate physical conditions for growth of adventure tourism. On the other hand, it has different modalities such as land and water activities of adventure tourism carried out in the canton. We will carry out an analysis of adventure tourism development with the final purpose of knowing its background, and identifying the opportunities to generate new alternatives and additional services to this tourism modality. This analysis is also performed with the purpose of contributing to the economic growth of the town through generating employment opportunities and tourist servers in order to help people improve their quality of life.
