The study sample was randomly selected. The identification of genotypes were performed in the laboratory of Molecular Biology, in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Cuenca. In the 6 counties found HPV prevalence was 26.71%, the vaccines used by the MSP which warn against genotypes 6, 11, 16 and 18 serve to partially prevent cancer because the genotypes were found in 16 1.37% and 0.68% 6. Genotypes 18 and 11 were not found. The main risk factor associated with HPV was the number of sexual partners, finding that women who have had 3 or more partners increased to 5 times the chance of getting HPV compared to other factors such as age of first sex , years of sexual activity, use of AHO, number of children and alcohol.
