    Análisis de la reducción del cupo de importaciones para el sector automotriz en Ecuador de acuerdo a las resoluciones del COMEX 2012, 2013, 2014 y el impacto socioeconómico causado

    In an Ecuadorian dollarized economy, which cannot have exchange measures, it is a priority to care about dollars drain, which can risk the stability of it. Thus, with a deficit trade balance, the government supports the exports and limits the imports. Even the automotive sector is one of the biggest importers, they have applied some conditions and limitations to them in order to reduce their imports and support domestic industry. For this reason, the objetive of this study is to determinate the impact of those import quotas in the automotive sector’s companies, based in the analysis of those who are established in Cuenca; and also to determinate the effect in its profit in 2010-2014 period, considering that import quotas were applied since 2012. For this reason, it is described COMEX’s Resolutions 66 and 049, which are the ones that impose the quotas, also we make financial of the company: Recordmotor S:A:, whose results allow to know the effects in the sector, and we research with interviews and indicators, the consequences of putting restrictions to the principal automobile’s importers. The companies strenghthened other business areas, like car’s parts and services, in order to make up for the sales cars decrease and to keep its profit, which in the actual conditions, it is a challenge.
