Determinación de acetilcolinesterasa, fosfatasa alcalina, aspartato aminotrasferasa y alanina aminotrasferasa en trabajadores de la plantación DREAMROS ubicada en la parroquia Jadán
(2015) Figueroa Chicaiza, Yessenia Marianela; Mejía Jarama, Edgar Patricio; Rosas Castro, Ruth Eugenia
In this research, the enzyme levels of acetylcholinesterase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase were determine in 44 flower plantation workers "DREAMROS" by exposure to organophosphate insecticides and 20 healthy control population not exposed. For the quantification of acetylcholinesterase enzyme the kinetic method was used based on the reaction of Ellman through spectrophotometrically. And, for the liver enzymes the same spectrophotometric method was used. Sampling was done at the beginning of the workday and through a survey it was assessed the personal characteristics and safety of each worker. The results showed no significant statistical difference (p=0.237) between the 2 populations in the levels of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. However, there was a statistically significant difference of this enzyme by the labor activity performed (p=0.004), being fumigation workers has a greater exposure to organophosphate insecticides. Most workers had less than one year old, so no significant statistical difference acetylcholinesterase enzyme was found by the time of exposure to these compounds. Moreover, there was no statistically significant difference between the two populations for the alanine aminotransferase enzyme (p = 0.003) and alkaline phosphatase (p=0.013). But, within the reference values.Aspartate aminotransferaseenzyme did not showstatistically significant difference (p=0,473). A strict control in the flower plantation was recommended, so that workers wear full protective equipment at the workplace at all times
