Similarly, academic procrastination is considered a self-limiting behavior that undermines the use of time, increases stress and produces poor school performance. Taking into account the present problem, the research aims to establish the levels of procrastination and academic stress in high school students of the Fray Vicente Solano Educational Unit, in the city of Cuenca. The study had a quantitative approach, with a descriptive scope, and a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. Two instruments were used for academic stress, the SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress with a Cronbach's alpha of .849 and for academic procrastination the Academic Procrastination Scale with a Cronbach's alpha of .562. The sample consisted of 203 high school students, made up of 69 men and 130 women with an average age of 16 years. The results obtained based on the objectives reveal that women tend to present high levels of academic procrastination, however, men are within a similar range, on the other hand, it can be noted that there are severe levels of academic stress among women. It was concluded that it is necessary to work on psychoeducational strategies with the students so that they acquire autonomous learning that allows them to reduce the prevalence of procrastination and academic stress.
