    Diagramming plays a key role in the visual representation of business processes. It provides a clear and concise understanding of activities and workflows. In this context, two prominent tools: CMMN and BPMN have emerged as leading standards for business process visualization and analysis. Both methodologies offer distinctive approaches to address the complexity of case and business process management. The objective of the present work is to present a comparative analysis that explores the particular features, advantages and applications of CMMN and BPMN. The contribution is to highlight their fundamental differences, and to provide guidance on choosing the most appropriate tool based on the specific needs of each business scenario and complex cases.
