Item Análisis formal de la obra Raíces del compositor ecuatoriano Cristian Orozco, una propuesta para la adaptación para marimba de cuatro octavas(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-07-01) Sumba Lucero, Jairo Augusto; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroThe work hereby with the title Análisis formal de la obra Raíces del compositor ecuatoriano Cristian Orozco, focuses on a detailed study of Orozco's musical piece. The main objective of this work is to analyze the formal structure of the piece in order to identify the musical and extra musical elements used and their function in the composition. The analysis of this work encompasses the formal structure, the musical language and the interpretation of the analyzed piece by Orozco. The structure of this work is studied and three main sections are recognized: introduction, development and conclusion. In the same way, the role of different musical elements used around the piece, including harmony, melody and rhythm, have been studied to establish their function in the composition. Finally, the contribution to the performance of the work is analyzed and interpretative ideas are suggested to adapt this piece written for a five-octave marimba to a four-octave marimba. Given that access to an instrument with the characteristics required on the piece is far within reach of most of the interpreters, performance ideas are discussed in order to adapt this piece written for a five-octave marimba to a four-octave marimba. The pasillo, been not an ecuadorian genre itself, it became into one of the most importants musical genres of Ecuador.Item Composición de cuatro temas basados en la estructura general de la Balada Pop(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-02-14) Ortiz Gutiérrez, Diego Andrés; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroPop music has been characterized as a genre that has a great impact on a global level, both for it´s comfortable acceptance by a large number of masses as well as for it´s great variability in terms of musical styles; therefore, this work focuses in a practical way on one of its musical aspects which is the pop ballad. One of the purposes of this work is based on the compilation of parameters and general studies that contribute to the creation, composition and arrangements of the unpublished themes that are intended to be performed in a more practical and fluid manner, providing us with terms, parameters and models of analysis that have been considered essential as they are elements that characterize music as such, such as melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, lyrical and orchestral aspects. Therefore, this work intends to deliver those parameters in a general and compiled way for an easy understanding and application; this way we can find a more precise relationship between the already existing pop ballad songs that will serve us as a reference and at the same time relate those songs to the compositions we are going to create.Item Creación de canciones infantiles en géneros musicales ecuatorianos para el aprendizaje de niños en edad preescolar como herramienta facilitadora(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-09-14) Hurtado Sacta, Daniel Nicolás; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroChildren's songs are presented as a didactic tool that is present in daily life and in the education of children. These cheerful and catchy melodies not only entertain but also promote learning and development in various areas, making them a useful pedagogical tool and resource for the development of language skills, intellect, concentration, motor coordination, and language when strengthening cognitive processes. In addition, songs convey positive values and important teachings, stimulate creativity and imagination, and allow children to learn in a playful and entertaining way. By primarily focusing on the Orff Method, which proposes the use of children's songs specific to each community and popular folklore sung and spoken within the preschool environment, this will serve to reinforce musical development and improve skills in different areas of knowledge. The twentieth century is a time of great social and artistic changes in which there is a big development of percussion instruments with the creation of new tools, techniques and sounds. Gradually this instrumental family has had an important place in the orchestra, so increasingly a lot of composers value these instruments for its variety and sounds that over time has made possible the interpretation of complex works allowing these instruments can be played solo. Despite the progress that has made percussion, in some countries like ours, both musicians and the audience, does not have a deep understanding of these instruments, so the reception is poor. For that reason this thesis project entitled ORCHESTRAL PERCUSSION: ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF THE SELECTED REPERTOIRE presents the analysis as a way of understanding the music works for percussion, helping to percussionist, other musicians and the audience to deepen their knowledge. This work has been developed in four chapters. Beginning with a description of the physiognomy and the production of the sound of this instruments, thus laying the foundation on which we will develop the following chapters. As second point we present the technical possibilities by each instrument focusing on traditional and specific modes of performance on each. The third point talks about the use of sound complements, sticks and accessories that we use to play various instruments and also their combinations. Also we talk about the position and displacement in front of the instruments, taking into account with which we work and wide range of accessories, also their right use and specification on the scores, important issue when working with these instruments, on the last chapter we talk about the traditional and specific writing of the percussion family, explaining the nomenclature in several cases, it is also complemented this study with the topic of multiple percussion, specific topic of the percussion family, the location plans that relating to how to perform spatial position graph of instruments to the development of pieces of multiple percussion. Also we talk about a very important topic, the tuning, since membranophones instruments and idiophones have different and varied methods for this purpose. In addition, technical advice on selected passages and several exercises created with the sole purpose of helping the performer get ready for the demanding role of the vibraphone on this score are provided.Item Propuesta interpretativa del “Concierto Ruso para Marimba y Orquesta” de Sergei Golovko a través de su análisis musical formal(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-19) Tapia García, Kevin Paúl; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroThe objective of this present work is to develop an interpretative proposal with technical and interpretative recommendations applied to the three movements work entitled The Russian Marimba Concerto for marimba and orchestra by Ukrainian composer Sergei Golovko. The author approaches the work through the historical context and the biography of the composer. A formal musical analysis of the three movements of the concerto is presented, following certain parameters of the method Curso de Formas Musicales by Joaquín Zamacois. Finally, the interpretative proposal is presented, which includes technique exercises developed by area specialist as Leigh Howard Stevens and Nancy Zeltsman, focused to difficulties present in specific passages of the concerto.Item Propuesta interpretativa del concertino para marimba y vientos del compositor Alfred Reed, basado en el análisis comparativo(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-10-26) Ortiz Loja, Pedro Xavier; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroThe purpose of the present study is to develop a performance proposal of the Concertino for Marimba and Winds by composer Alfred Reed. In order to reach this goal, the first step was a revision of the musical trajectory of the composer; in addition, a comparative analysis was developed between two Latin American percussionists and their interpretations of the piece. The proposed study was based on the constant practice of the Concertino, an exhaustive exploration of the instrument and a contrast with the interpretations analyzed. On the other hand, with technical answers that can serve as a guide in the interpretative study of the concerto for marimba by Eric Ewazen.Item Propuesta metodológica para el acompañamiento pianístico del género musical balada mediante variaciones de patrones rítmico armónicos para pianistas de nivel intermedio(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-06) Sinchi Farez, Freddy Iván; Escudero Uchuari, Manuel AlejandroThe purpose of this research is the creation of a methodological proposal for the piano accompaniment of the ballad musical genre; through variations of harmonic rhythmic patterns, for intermediate level pianists and the systematization of the learning process for piano accompaniment, presenting in a sequential and didactic way, the piano techniques necessary to achieve this goal. This research presents a collection and analysis of 4 methods of piano accompaniment as a methodological reference used for the teaching of accompaniment at the piano and subsequent application in the methodological systematization in the ballad musical genre. Subsequently, this investigation approach to all the theoretical foundation about the ballad genre: definition, origin, structure, format, chords and harmonic progressions more characteristic or usual in this genre. Next, an analysis and exposition of the most common piano techniques for piano accompaniment is made: block chords, broken, and arpeggios, laying a basis for the development of accompaniment patterns. Finally, with all the thematic reviewed before, harmonic rhythmic designs are developed for the accompaniment on the piano, through a rhythmic design that will detail how to build it through major, minor chords and then with harmonic progressions in major and minor mode, it is applies in fragments of popular themes of the ballad genre, as a complement also details the function of the accompaniment of the left hand in accompaniment, when the right hand performs as a soloist.Item Proyecto de desarrollo de una metodología, para la creación de un coro y una orquesta infantil en la Escuela Liceo Americano Católico de la ciudad de Cuenca en el período lectivo 2008-2009(Universidad de Cuenca.
