For this reason it is important that people achieve a mastery of this ability and by virtue of this need, this document proposes the realization of a didactic proposal, which, based on the management of traditional stories, seeks to promote reading comprehension in 8-year-old students. The fulfillment of this purpose was carried out based on a detailed analysis of all the characteristics that encompasses reading comprehension in children belonging to this age group, the didactic sequence that this procedure entails and the description of the way in which the contents are presented. levels of reading comprehension. After this, a theoretical review was also carried out on the details regarding traditional stories and their pedagogical function within the teaching- learning process, directing attention to reading comprehension.
