This study focuses on the development of the educational process in the context of the health emergency in the parish of Canchagua-Cotopaxi. The research was developed with the objective of analyzing children's mobility to obtain educational technological resources in the community Infocentro. A qualitative approach was used with a case study methodological design: simple-holistic, descriptive type. Using the techniques of analysis of secondary documents, semi-structured interviews, surveys and focus groups. Among the results it was found that the economic factor is a determining factor in the situation of mobility and access to technological means, in an area that is geographically dispersed, where the lack of technological equipment necessary for the community Infocentro, educational policies and state provisions are not adapted to the particularities of the sectors lacking services and connectivity. We can conclude that the adoption of technologies for education in rural areas implies many challenges to obtain an efficient quality education, starting with the active involvement of the actors for the joint construction of alternatives to reduce the digital gap through the satisfaction of the different needs arising from education.

Participatory democracy is that which aims to involve multiple social sectors in decision making and management of public resources. Therefore, citizen participation and accountability are elements that have been incorporated at the normative level into representative democratic systems, with the ideal of avoiding the concentration of power by those in power. The contribution of this research is to analyze citizen participation linked to the accountability process of the Parish GADs in the canton of Cuenca, for which a qualitative approach was used, through the analysis of multiple cases of rural parishes: Baños and Paccha. The techniques used were: semi-structured interview, documentary analysis and survey. The results reveal that: the accountability process has an informative character and consists of five phases, from which citizens can be involved exclusively in the Citizen Consultation and Public Deliberation; the actors involved in citizen participation are characterized as: active citizens, while the citizens characterized as passive are those who are far from the participation arena; finally, it can be said that the perceptions about citizen participation-accountability vary according to the actors

The objective of this degree work is to understand the relationship between experiences in public spaces and the right to the city of the LGBTIQ+ population in the city of Cuenca. In this line, we analyzed the experiences, conceptions and factors that intervene in the use of public spaces by LGBTIQ+ people that led us to investigate how heteronormativity is established in public spaces. The research has a qualitative approach, its scope is descriptive and explanatory, the techniques for data collection were semi-structured interviews and nonparticipant observation, a type of snowball sampling was carried out and Atlas.ti was used in the processing. The results obtained show how heteronormativity determines the use and enjoyment of the LGBTIQ+ population within public spaces, due to the existence of a sociocultural construction that establishes heterosexuality as the correct way of being and inhabiting the different spaces within Cuenca. From analyzing the experiences and conceptions that this population has, we have identified acts of discrimination and different forms of violence that occur towards these people. Faced with this, the LGBTIQ+ population has taken strategies to avoid these situations, which consist of limiting their expression, use and enjoyment within these spaces, as well as generating spaces of struggle to exercise and access rights. It is within this framework that the experiences of the population and their right to the city are developed.

The following thesis aims to analyze the construction of femininity in older women in relation to the symbolic order of the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. This research, with a descriptive- explanatory scope, employs a qualitative methodological approach, a phenomenological design, and in-depth interviews as the primary research technique. These methods have allowed for a deeper exploration of the subjective meanings of being an older woman through their lived experiences. The results indicate that, although femininity is shaped by patriarchal logic and is directly associated with the characteristics, values, roles, and behaviors assigned to women in both personal and shared spaces, there is room to discuss an alternative form of femininity. This alternate femininity emerges during the aging process, driven by the agency of older women, who resignify their identities and roles based on their experiences, contexts, and personal histories.

The main objective of this study was to determine which factors influence the construction of the risk perception of the inhabitants of the Las Rosas neighborhood. The qualitative method was applied, with a descriptive, documentary and analytical design, the approach was through a case study from a holistic perspective allowing to understand the social, cultural and environmental factors that influence the construction of risk in the sector addressed, considering the social structures, environmental conditions, local policies and cultural practices in an area with a high degree of vulnerability and imminent danger of suffering some type of disaster. The techniques used were interviews and participant observation, in addition to secondary information being scientific evidence. Ten social actors from the sector participated. Coding was carried out using ATLAS software. TI. Among the results, it was determined that the perception of these phenomena was initially underestimated and that preventive measures were not taken, which originated feelings of insecurity and vulnerability in the face of landslide risk. There was evidence of a lack of preparedness and knowledge in the face of such a situation where the factors were housing constructions in vulnerable areas, absence of effective policies or territorial planning, as well as reactive responses by the authorities and economic inequality, without considering the human, emotional and socioeconomic needs of the residents. It is concluded that risk perception is related to multiple factors such as economic, cultural, political, social, and environmental; These factors interrelate with each other creating a perception of risk. Therefore, it is essential to contrast the perception of risk with scientific and technical evaluations through effective and collaborative communication between experts, authorities and residents.

Demographic changes resulting from migratory movements, such as the depopulation of rural communities due to emigration, contribute to the transformation of participation dynamics among older adults. This is the case in the parish of La Asunción (Azuay), where there is a marked trend of emigration among young people of working age. This process has affected social organization and the levels of participation, integration, and support perceived by older adults. The aim of this research was to analyze how migration is related to the dynamics of participation, integration, and social support as perceived by older adults in the community. The study, descriptive and cross-sectional in nature, drew on census data, the parish PDOT, interviews with local authorities, and structured surveys applied to 258 older adults. The results show that organizational participation reaches a medium-low index, with barriers linked to distance and lack of information. Age is negatively associated with participation, while the number of children has a positive effect. Significant correlations were identified: moderate between participation and integration, weak but positive between participation and social support, and strong between integration and support. In addition, community life is perceived to have changed due to emigration, mainly in negative ways.
