Item Trasplante renal: donador vivo versus donador cadavérico. Riesgos y beneficios. Revisión bibliográfica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-25) Donoso Moreano, Jennifer Odalis; León Beltrán, Francesca Delita; Reinoso Barzallo, Darío AníbalBackground: Life expectancy has increased in the population, as the number of patients with chronic kidney disease. Kidney transplantation has become an option for those patients who require renal replacement therapy. This procedure can be performed using living or deceased donors; therefore, it is crucial to analyze the benefits and risks associated with each type of transplantation. Objective: To carry out an exhaustive synthesis of the updated scientific literature on the risks and benefits present in kidney transplantation from a living donor versus a deceased donor. Methods: Twenty scientific articles were included in this bibliographic review, obtained mainly from Pubmed, Elsevier and Scielo, in English and Spanish. The PICO strategy was used to obtain the keywords and MeSH terms in order to elaborate the search equation. Expected results: In this bibliographical review, the differences, similarities, risks and benefits were found by comparing living-donor and deceased-donor kidney transplants in order to determine the best therapeutic option for patients in need of kidney transplantation.
