    The research work focuses on analyzing the profitability within the Ecuadorian commercial sector, particularly in Cuenca. The methodology employed amalgamates qualitative and quantitative approaches, encompassing an extensive literature review and the compilation of financial data utilizing a fixed effects panel model. The outcomes disclose pivotal insights into Ecuador's commercial sector profitability, delineating trends and comparisons between local and national enterprises.
