The following degree dissertation, has as a starting point a real situation in the city of Cuenca, Which its achived by a meticulous analysis of several indicators, related to different types of equipment. By reviewing them, we can see a notable lack of equipment in the city. This research is particularly focus on the lack of recreational equipment, the same that contains the coliseum category and which is going to be proposed and at the same time its the main objective. To be more precise, this coliseum is specifically desinged to Ricaurte parish, which is one of the biggest within the set of 21 parish organizations in the canton. The parish of Ricaurte is considered as a expansion of urban area due to its proximity to the city. In recent years has been a dominant growth in the population , a factor that leads to a lack of basic services for the population and the reason why , this work aims to mitigate part of this deficiency of equipment. This coliseum will be screened in an area designed by the GAD part of the Ricaurte’s parish, the same one that in the development of this thesis made an analysis of all variables presented. Also other documents are reviewed as a normative to establish the minimum dimensions needed for the design, two cases of studies are analyzed in order to offer and provide us design parameters in form of function and struture . Coliseum structure is worked entirely in metal structure, for which was needed a pre-dimensioning , taking as a basis the cable structure, elements are replaced to fully stiffen structure and arrived to a correct structural project.
