Gender roles refer to all those social norms, behaviors, rules generally perceived as assigned to men and women and imposed by society, culture, education and family. The objective of this research is to analyze the socialization of gender roles in the educational and family environment of 7th and 8th grade students of the Pucará Educational Unit. It proposes a solid proposal for a qualitative study on the influence of the family and school in the transmission of traditional gender roles, which perpetuate inequalities. The project is relevant both for the generation of knowledge and for the transformation of educational practices towards equity and inclusion. The results show the persistence of gender stereotypes at home and school, with clearly defined roles and expectations. Although some students are beginning to question these traditional roles and propose measures to promote gender equality, the need for educational and awareness-raising strategies to challenge these stereotypes and allow for the full development of the students is highlighted.
