Valores formales de la arquitectura colonial de culto en la ciudad de Cuenca. Las Conceptas y El Carmen de la Asunción
(2019-01-04) Delgado Reyes, Juan Guillermo; Proaño Escandón, Diego Javier
The following research looks forward to the recognition between the architectural elements and configurations both presented on religious buildings in the city of Cuenca, allowing to determine values on the formal and spatial relations found after building analysis. The case study buildings to analize are the Conceptas Monastry and El Carmen de la Asunción Monastry, though where their respective digital construction and the analysis of their original form will establish and develop certain spacial relations and criteria to be found in order to understand them; at the same time to allow the reader to think about the importance of looking at traditional architecture and its values through evaluation and comparison methods. Those elements found will be compared with another values and principles found in modern architecture and postulations obtained from various points of view and with the analysis and evaluation method proposed by PHD María Augusta Hermida’s research “Valores formales de la vivienda rural tradicional del siglo XX en la provincia del Azuay”(2011), though to get actual tools that based on the lessons learnt on both modern and traditional architecture and universal criteria will enrich contemporary architecture
