    Percepciones y experiencias de la salud mental de los estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca 2024-2025

    According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health problems include disorders linked to factors such as anxiety, stress and depression. These problems tend to manifest themselves more frequently in academic contexts during the professional training stage, which can significantly complicate this process. One of the careers that presents the greatest challenges for the mental and emotional stability of students is nursing. The objective of this research is to explore the perceptions and experiences of Mental Health of the students of the Nursing Career at the University of Cuenca. This research has a qualitative approach with a phenomenological-hermeneutic design to obtain the data was used as a method semistructured in-depth interviews with students from third to ninth cycle of the nursing career, the data collected were audio recorded, transcribed into the Word platform and analyzed using the Atlas, Ti software. The information obtained will allow knowing the reality and experiences lived by the students during their professional training, thus identifying the triggering factors of mental health problems. The results showed a high prevalence of academic factors which influenced the imbalance of mental and emotional wellbeing affecting their academic and emotional development. These findings are considered fundamental for the University of Cuenca to implement strategies for a healthy academic environment.
