    Prevalencia y factores de riesgo de cervicalgia mecánica en trabajadores de la Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jardín Azuayo. Cuenca. 2016

    Precedents: cervical pain is defined as pain in the neck that is perceived as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with tissue affectation. Most of cervical pains have their origin in mechanical factors and the prevalence throughout life is around 50%- 70%. General Objective: to determine the prevalence and risk factors of mechanical cervical pain among workers of Jardín Azuayo credit and savings cooperative. Cuenca 2016. Methology: an analytical, prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted in131 workers. Pain, range of motion, trigger points and cervical disability were evaluated. The results were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted in SPSS program v. 20, the data obtained was represented in tables, with its corresponding percentages of the variables and with the statistically significant P value. Results: at the end of the assessment it was found that 67,9% (n=89) workers of the Cooperative presented mechanical neck pain. The 47,3% had neck pain of moderate intensity according to the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Belonging to the feminine gender, work sitting with neck flexion and not receiving treatment were factors that influenced workers of the Cooperative to present pain of mechanical type. Conclusion: There is a high incidence of neck pain among the Cooperative workers that is related with predisposing factors
