Recreational activities are an innovative strategy that foster participatory learning among students and allow them to interact with the content being taught; that is, to construct their own knowledge. Meanwhile, gross motor skills are a fundamental element of human development, as they contribute to the acquisition of the abilities necessary to maintain optimal functioning within the environment. In this way, the main objective of the present research was to propose a plan of recreational activities for boys and girls between 7 and 9 years of age, with the purpose of strengthening gross motor skills among the members of the Limón Indanza Municipal Government soccer school. The research design applied had a quantitative approach, with field and bibliographic-documentary methods. The sample consisted of boys and girls aged 7 to 9 who attend the Limón Indanza municipal soccer school. A test was administered to the children to measure their gross motor skills and identify their level of development. The study demonstrated that recreational activities have a positive impact on the development of gross motor skills; through playful interventions, aspects such as coordination, balance, and muscle strength were improved. Furthermore, it was evident that the program contributes to the overall development of children.
