Item Evaluación del desarrollo psicomotor en preescolares de 3 a 5 años de la Escuela Iván Salgado Espinosa de la ciudad de Cuenca 2014-2015(2015-11-11) Chacha Yunga, Mayra Ximena; Crespo Espinoza, Mayra Gioconda; Pesántez Díaz, Tania Lorena; Pesántez Díaz, Tania LorenaIntroduction: The psychomotor development in preschool allows early detection of children with delayed psychomotor development, and thus applies the appropriate educational-therapeutic intervention. General Objective: To evaluate the Psychomotor Development in the preschool 3-5 years old of “Ivan Salgado Espinosa" school from Cuenca city. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted in children aged 3-5 years old, who regularly attended school Basic Education "Ivan Salgado Espinosa" during the school year 2014-2015, to determine whether children / as have delays psychomotor development through the application of the Scale of psychomotor development in early childhood Brunet Lézine (New Way). For this informative meetings with parents were conducted; and it was socialized and the corresponding campus authorities requested permission and informed consent was obtained. The data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics frequencies and percentages. Results: Of the 72 children, who entered the study, 40 were males and represent 56% and 32 were women, accounting for 44%. 35% of children took ages 3 years to 3 years 11 months. Another 35% represents children who were ages 4 to 4 years 11 months. The remaining 30% represents children aged 5 years and 5 years 11 months. The overall prevalence of impaired psychomotor development in children (as) Preschoolers of Ivan Salgado Espinoza School was 16.7%, of which 13.9% was considered a slight delay and 2.8% as a moderate delay.
