Rigid pavements slabs works under the action of flexural strengths, so it is necessary to know the performance of the concrete to these requests. The correlation between the modulus of rupture and the compression strength of the concrete has been widely studied in the world, there are many equations that have been established for the effect, and their values show variations that depend mainly on the type of raw material used. In Ecuador, few investigations have been carried out to determine this correlation and in the city of Cuenca, there are no evidences of similar works. Consequently, it is necessary to carry out an investigation using materials of the sector and to establish the function that governs this relation. This paper shows the results of a research carried out in the city of Cuenca, to establish a function that links the stresses of flexural and compression of the concrete, using cements and aggregates of the place. To this end, mixtures were made with different c/w relations, taking each batch beams and cylinders that were subjected to stresses and compression respectively until its failure. With the results obtained, a statistical analysis of correlation was made, reaching the conclusion that the Concretes elaborated with aggregates and cements used in city of Cuenca are satisfactorily adjusted to exponential curves, similar to the established by other researchers
