Item Imaginarios sociales de género en mujeres, dentro del ambiente familiar, en la comunidad de Don Julo(2017) Cárdenas Hoyos, Guido Aníbal; López López, Endrina Elizabeth; Correa Herrera, Juan FranciscoGender studies are a means of defining new social dynamics that allow us to understand the power relationships that exist in our society. This study is of a qualitative – descriptive nature that uses tools from Red CIMAS, with a Participative Action Investigation (IAP) model, where the following techniques were applied: observation, interview, focal groups and working groups. This investigation encompasses a brief description of the social context in which the study was performed, a background section where certain concepts that are related to the investigation are highlighted, such as: gender, gender relationships, gender stereotypes, gender perspective, gender ideology, gender equality, gender roles, and false social construct regarding society, gender, and family. By having a clear understanding of these concepts we are able to have a better understanding of the investigation as a whole. This study looks to clearly define and distinguish community decision making processes in a rural community, where we could see conflicts between families that were defined by gender. This has encouraged us to introduce to the participants better community dynamics by reducing centralizing forms of conduct. We were able to detect gender imaginaries, specifically towards women, in the community named Don Julo. These conflicts were specifically related to their family dynamics. Additionally, we were able to encourage the community to think critically about these issues.
