    Métodos y técnicas aplicadas por los curanderos en la atención de salud del Cantón Santa Isabel 2014

    BACKGROUND: Healers are part of the health system, contributing to the solution of problems, their practice is not included in today's society, but there are people who come to them so it is important to systematize their methods, techniques. OBJECTIVE: To describe the methods and techniques applied by health healers on Santa Isabel. METHODOLOGY: This is a qualitative ethnographic study. Interviews, participant observations and recordings were used for the collection of data. UNIVERSE: Healers of Santa Isabel, the sample was selected with inclusion criteria, which were native, renowned and who had a minimum of 5 years of experience, who also agreed to participate in this research project. DATA COLLECTION: recordings and a structured questionnaire was used, the analysis of the information collected in the ATLAS.ti program, which is an auxiliary to the qualitative analysis of text, graphics and video considering the principles and values of the traditional and Intercultural medicine. USE OF THE RESULTS: Healers use different methods for diagnosing the most common diseases such as evil eye, bad air and scare, three of them use the Creole egg, one uses the book "Health and Life". Every healer has his/her individual way to cure, but they all have in common bathrooms clean and mountains, blows and rubs with compounds in drink. For treatment, three of them believe that every day is effective for healing, except one who believes auspicious days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
