    Hábitos, creencias y costumbres durante el embarazo, parto y postparto mediato en la comunidad de Quilloac. Cañar, 2014

    Objective. Determine habits, beliefs and customs during the pregnancy, deliver and post-delivery in the Quilloac community, Cañar during 2014. Methods and Materials. This is a qualitative interview, we worked with 2 groups of pregnant women from 19, 20, 35 and 39 years, four women who are mothers, from 30, 38, 40 and 45 years old, we received a testimony of a comadrona “woman who helps in the delivery of the baby” whom we made a deep interview, who allowed us to recollect information from different points of view. The information was collected through surveys, interviews, stories, tape-recordings also a direct observations on habits, beliefs and practices during pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery. Results. The collected data in Quilloac’s community according to participants research were transcribed and found a relationship between the questions and the survey, after being analyzed, between categories and subcategories; which gave us a result of a broad view on the habits, beliefs and customs, in relation with pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum mediate; in this we found diversity of ancestral practices that is maintaining until now such. Conclusions. In Quilloac community, pregnant women and mothers still have some habits, beliefs, and customs during the pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery however, now we can demonstrate that this acts has been lest strong according to the modernity specially adolescent women prefer now hospital and professional health care instead an comadrona*.
