    La literatura infantil como estrategia didáctica para el desarrollo del hábito lector en los niños de básica elemental

    The use of children’s literature in the classroom as a didactic strategy allows the establishment of reading habits in students of primary school. The present research is a monograph of education, particularly in the area of Language and Literature. The objective of this research is to determine through a literature review the relationship between the use of children’s literature and reading habits in children of primary school. To achieve such objective, the literature review was done through the recompilation, analysis and summary of diverse documents, scientific articles, and books related to the different variables of the research at hand. Based on the literature review we concluded children’s literature used as a didactic strategy has a positive impact in the acquisition and development of reading habits in children since the subgenres in children’s literature are appealing and allow pleasant reading. In addition, the used literature must be selected properly by the teachers since they are the mediators between the texts and the children.
