    Modelo de intervención urbana en espacios públicos de la ciudad de Azogues

    The graduation project emphasizes the importance of designing and planning public spaces to enhance the quality of life in the city of Azogues. These spaces serve as meeting points, promoting social interaction, and community development. However, the lack of maintenance and deterioration limit their functionality and attractiveness. The research proposes a comprehensive urban intervention model tailored to the reality of Azogues. Five steps were followed: approaching reality, analytical framework, diagnosis and synthesis, strategic planning, and proposals, with monitoring mechanisms. A data collection form was designed, crucial for the diagnosis, identifying areas for improvement in public spaces. The weighting of these spaces facilitated the selection of the Purcay stream margin as the most suitable for intervention, despite not meeting all ideal conditions. The intervention proposal covers architectural, landscaping, social, and environmental aspects. It includes green areas, urban furniture, proper lighting, pedestrian pathways, and recreational and community spaces. To ensure success and sustainability, implementing monitoring and follow-up mechanisms is suggested to assess the impact, make necessary adjustments, and ensure long-term maintenance.
