Item Características clínico epidemiológicas de constipación crónica funcional en pacientes de 3 a 15 años atendidos en el servicio de gastroenterología pediátrica del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso Cuenca 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-04-05) Carrera Aguirre, Eliana Gabriela; Chimbo Naranjo, Jhon MauricioBackground: Functional constipation implies underestimated difficulties regarding health, compromising the quality of life of children. Objective: To determine the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of constipation in patients between 3 and 15 years of age treated at the pediatric gastroenterology service of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Methods: Descriptive, quantitative study whose universe was made up of patients from 3 to 15 years of age treated in the pediatric gastroenterology service during 2021. It included 111 patients. Data collection was carried out by reviewing medical records and applying a survey based on a form designed by the author, validated by a commission of experts. The information was analyzed applying descriptive statistics, using the statistical software SPSS V.26. The variables are presented in frequencies and percentages. Results: Predominated: female sex (53.2%), school age group (50.5%), urban origin (78.4%). Abdominal pain (73%) and painful defecation (48.6%) were the most frequent symptoms. 33.3% of the patients received exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and 77.5% started complementary feeding before 6 months. 44.1% had a family history of constipation. 85.6% consumed less than 4 glasses of water per day. The enema (60.4%) and polyethylene glycol (36%) were the most widely used treatments. Complications: chronic abdominal pain (45.9%) and fecal impaction (44.1%). Conclusion: The female gender, schoolchildren, urban residents, abdominal and defecation pain, early weaning and low water consumption were the most frequent clinicalepidemiological characteristics.Item Clínica del dolor abdominal crónico en niños atendidos en el Servicio de Gastropediatría del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, 2017(2019-11-11) Pesántez Abril, Angela Andrea; Chimbo Naranjo, Jhon MauricioObjective: To determine the main clinical characteristics of chronic abdominal pain in children treated at the Gastropediatric Service of the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga during the year 2017. Method and materials: This was a descriptive qualitative study, included a sample of 107 patients with chronic abdominal pain between 4 to 15 years in period 2017, and who underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsies. A form designed by the author was used, and through an interview with the child or his companion and endoscopic and anatomo-pathological reports, the information was collected; analyzed in software SPSS version 15 using for qualitative variables numbers and percentages, of the quantitative medians and interquartile ranges and for statistical association as Chi square. Results: A higher frequency of females was determined, with a median age of 12 years. Chronic abdominal pain occurred in 64.5% of the burning type, 52.3% of moderate intensity, and 87.9% with intermittent character. Alterations were reported in the most of cases, in 94% of endoscopic findings and 97% of histopathological findings, of which the most frequent was superficial chronic gastritis. In addition, infection by Helicobacter pylori was corroborated in 50.47% of the cases, which was statistically significant with nodular gastritis and the presence of and of lymphoid follicles (p <0.05). Conclusions: The approach of a child with chronic abdominal pain should include a complete evaluation aimed at determining the etiology, which mostly corresponds to organic, including infection by Helicobacter pylori; therefore, functional chronic abdominal pain should be consider a diagnosis of exclusion.Item Importancia del juego en el desarrollo psico-motriz infantil(2001) Calle Torres, Mónica Fabiola; Campoverde Ortiz, Marco Enrique; Cazorla Dután, Marco Vinicio; Chimbo Naranjo, Jhon Mauricio; Naula, Miriam; Quizhpe Peralta, Arturo Octavio; García Alvear, Jorge LuisThe game is an activity that occurs throughout our lives, predominantly at certain stages and form as important as the development of physical, mental and social skills that will encourage harmonious and balanced formation of each individual process. With this project we found that there are differences between the criteria of urban and rural areas. In urban schools a percentage of 53 percent and 40 percent respectively in rural schools teaching is a participation in the game. Also we note that in the rural area is where traditional games are still prevalent in 30 percent, and in the urban area by 6 percent
