La función del humor en la literatura de María Fernanda Heredia
(2014) Chica Guerrero, Adriana Noemí; Arízaga Andrade, Jorge Arturo
Humor has been present since the human race discovered that it was able to laugh at itself. It has covered areas as diverse as medicine, journalism, cinema, theater, and of course, literature. Within literature, humor has accomplished several functions, from being critical to being an educator. Maria Fernanda Heredia’s works reflect clearly that humor is basic for life in order to make fun of oneself, to face the reality, to heal, to defend, to criticize, to think and why not, to simply laugh just to laugh. Through different resources, the author is able to show her reader her way of seeing life, and additionally, she invites the reader to be reflexive entities and question what happens around them. With the help of various themes such as the first love, friendship, family, politics, she opens the door to a different perspective of what is socially established. She does this using humor in order to free, to teach, to entertain, and to make the reading agreeable.
