Item Aplicación de un programa recreativo para mejorar la atención, la motivación y la autoestima en clases de Educación Física en estudiantes de séptimo de básica de la Unidad Educativa Julio Abad Chica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-05) Chalco Carpio, David Eduardo; Arévalo Falconí, Claudio Patricio; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThe present degree work “Application of a recreational program to improve attention, motivation and self-esteem in Physical Education classes in seventh grade students of the Julio Abad Chica Educational Unit”, was born from participant observation, where it was detected that students lose interest in classes, they feel tied to working under the same monotony of the teacher, among others. For this purpose, within this study, a recreational games program was proposed to promote self-esteem and motivation in boys and girls in seventh grade at the Julio Abad Chica school. The sample was made up of 31 participants, 22 boys and 9 girls, whose ages range between 11 and 12 years. The research focuses on a quantitative approach and under a quasi-experimental design. To collect the information, a pre- and post-test was used to mediate the aforementioned variables; in addition, the Rosenberg scale and the Perceived Locus of Causation Scale. After the first evaluation, an 8- week program of activities was applied, with a frequency of one hour a week on Thursdays, during physical education hours. The results indicate an average self-esteem of 29; and likewise an average of 131 in motivation, before and after having applied the program. Finally, after the comparison it is concluded that in this study self-esteem and motivation were not favored, but neither were they found to have been at low levels, the results were presented and discussions were held with the necessary arguments.
