Item Parámetros de influencia en la resistencia de suelos granulares reforzados con geosintéticos(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-09-23) Castro Moncayo, Juan Diego; Velecela Calle, Daysi Carolina; Santacruz Reyes, Karla JhoannaThis study addresses the limited predictive capacity of current theoretical models for estimating the strength of granular soils reinforced with geosynthetics. The main objective was to adjust existing models by integrating the most influential variables to improve their agreement with laboratory results. The methodology involved creating a database with 53 triaxial tests and using Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) to rank the impact of the parameters. The fundamentals, simplifications, and limitations of the Equivalent Pressure, Equivalent Cohesion, and Tatsuoka solution theories were analyzed in depth. The ranking analysis revealed that the percentage of confined volume (Pvc), a parameter that integrates the geometry and friction angle of the soil, is the most influential variable, followed by confining pressure. The original models showed deficiencies. The Equivalent Cohesion model had almost no predictive power (R2 of 0.1375). On the other hand, although the Equivalent Pressure model showed a high R2 (0.9101), this is because it is a retrospective model. Finally, the Tatsuoka model, although superior (R2=0.567), also overestimated the resistance. After selecting and adjusting the Equivalent Cohesion and Tatsuoka models for their predictive nature, their accuracy improved significantly, with the Tatsuoka adjustment reaching an R2 of 0.8164. It is concluded that the adjusted models offer a much higher predictive capacity, although deviations at high pressures persist, suggesting the need to incorporate nonlinear analyses in future research.
