Item Actitudes hacia el género del estudiantado de la carrera de Educación en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí – Ecuador(2020) Castillo Quintero, Humberto PastorThe perception of attitudes towards gender equality is a fundamental factor in the understanding of inequity in students of the education career at the Technical University of Manabí. The research purpose is the analysis of the perception of sexist attitudes in 303 university students following a quantitative, observational and transversal approach. The data collection instrument was the ACTIG. The results position the student body within an adaptive profile, not perceiving significant differences by gender.Item Hábitos de lectura en alumnos universitarios de la carrera de Educación en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, Ecuador(2020) Henriquez Coronel, María AngelicaThe purpose of the research was to explore the reading and information consumption habits of the students of the Education career at the Technical University of Manabí (UTM), through an exploratory diagnosis. The study is part of the positivist methodological paradigm, using a quantitative approach and a descriptive, exploratory, cross-sectional research design. A sample size of 327 units was estimated, assuming an error of 0.05, consisting of students enrolled in the Career of Biology and Chemistry, Basic, Languages, Artistic, Physical, Physical and Mathematical and Initial Education of the UTM in Faceto-face modality. The information was collected through a questionnaire applied between August-September 2019, using the forms offered by the Google Drive platform. The exploratory analysis of the data included descriptive statistics and the application of the Chi-square test. The results reveal that the students of the Education career are rare readers of a wide range of types of information, being in the specialty of Basic Education where better reading habits are reflected. These results raise the need to develop proposals, at the curricular level, that contribute to the development of reading habits that strengthen a greater integral formation of the future graduated in the Education career.Item Una mirada a la legislación y normativa vigente del género en Ecuador(2021) Tubay Zambrano, Fanny Monserrate; Henriquez Coronel, Maria Angelica; Castillo Quintero, Humberto PastorWith a review of legal regulations of gender in Ecuador, this work shows its current status and the progress from a theoretical and practical progression to build a model of society based in the philosophy of good living. Through the qualitative methodology and the documentary method, 13 legal instruments and 4 state plans and projects were analyzed. The results show that despite the important legislative advances, there are still shortcomings in gender matters, since in practice it is required, on the one hand, that the state guarantee compliance with the regulations, and that, on the other, that society in its jointly assume it responsibly and make it possible.Item Validación de un instrumento para evaluar actitudes hacia la igualdad de género en estudiantes universitarios(2020) Tubay Zambrano, Fanny MonserrateThe analysis of the attitudes that the education students of the Technical University of Manabí - UTM have towards gender equality, is of great importance, when studying a basic attitudinal element in the profile of future teaching professionals, since these attitudes are frequently transferred, and therefore perceived and imitated by the generations of infants and young people immersed in the Ecuadorian educational system. The general objective of this study is to validate by the ACTIG questionnaire, developed for detection of attitudes that promote gender inequality. The study is part of the positivist methodological paradigm, with a quantitative approach. It isapplied to a sample of 290 students. The instrument used for data collection is structured based on three dimensions: sociocultural, personal and relational. The data derived from the scale is analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistical package. The results obtained reflect that the ACTIG is an instrument with high discriminant levels, reliability and construct validity.
