La gestión de riesgos como herramienta para la protección y conservación del patrimonio edificado monumental religioso. Caso de estudio: Conjunto Conventual San Francisco Quito
(2019-02-05) Carvajal Ballesteros, Erika Elizabeth; Heras Barros, Verónica Cristina
At present, the actions focused on the conservation and protection of the built cultural heritage are established within the general guidelines of preventive conservation and tourist management, managing to establish basic criteria for an adequate management of the buildings in face of the various gradual threats by which they go through. However, these actions have allowed only to improve the aesthetic characteristics of cultural assets, leaving in another plane actions that allow managing and preventing emergency events or risk subjects, which despite their occurrence is not frequent, the damages and provoked impacts can generate an irreparable loss. The research carried out focuses precisely on the understanding of the general conceptualization of risk management and the management of the heritage itself, making possible an association between both in favor of its conservation and protection, through methodologies established and applied in international benchmarks that allow formulating a methodological proposal in accordance with the characteristics and needs of the monumental religious edification heritage of Ecuador. The main objective of the methodological proposal is to be a guide for the orderly application of risk and emergency management actions. The validation of the proposed methodology was applied to one of the most representative Convent Groups in the city of Quito, the Convent of San Francisco. It being possible to verify that the methodological system is adaptable and flexible, capable of serving as a basis to establish important management projects in the different religious heritage buildings of the country.
