Item Afrontamiento y bienestar en adolescentes indígenas y mestizos en Unidades Educativas Fiscales de Saraguro y Cuenca(2018) Picón Romero, Johana Gabriela; Cartuche Guaillas, Zoila Patricia; Espinoza Ortiz, AntonioCoping and well-being are two components of mental health that have become the object of study in the branch of contemporary Psychology. The aim of this study is describe the styles of coping and the level of well-being in natives and mestizo adolescents. The approach was quantitative, with a transversal design and descriptive scope. Therefore, it were used the Adolescent coping scale (ACS) of Frydenberg & Lewis (2000) and the Psychological well-being scale (EBP) of Sánchez-Cánovas (1998). The participants was 66 adolescents, of which 32 belong to the Fiscal High School Inka Samana of the canton of Saraguro and 34 to the Fiscal High School Juan Montalvo of the canton of Cuenca. The ages of the participants were between 17 and 18, they were in the second and third year of the unified general high school. The results allow us to identify that the style of coping most used was that aimed at solving the problem. The most used strategies are: strive and succeed, look at the positive and worry. The level of well-being was medium with tendency to high values according to the applied sub-scales of subjective psychological well-being and material well-being; it is evident that the material well-being is higher according to the perceptions of the participants. In addition, there are significant statistical differences in the natives and sex variables a coping and well-being constructs.
