Item Influencia de la generación distribuida en la red de distribución eléctrica -caso práctico central de biogás de Pichacay(2014) Carpio Garay, Freddy Patricio; Corral Serrano, Miguel Guillermo; Durán Contreras, Edgar Fernando; Machado Solís, SantiagoThis work, in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of electrical engineer, presents the effects produced by the integration of distributed generation and electrical network in normal operations as well as in failures. This study focuses on the 0321 power supply at CENTROSUR network, which is the access to the Pichacay biogas plant. The first part gives a definition of distributed generation (GD) and its perspectives for Ecuador, according to the resources, methodology, and technology used for electricity generation. Furthermore, there is an overview of different laws and regulations in regard to construction, operation, and interconnection to electrical networks, depending on resources, technology, and nominal capacity. In this part, the study focuses on the energy source of biogas from sanitary landfills. The second part features the Pichacay sanitary landfill as well as technical data of biogas obtained from tests conducted for pre-feasibility studies in 2007. Based on these data, it is possible to see the generating capacity with different works to be performed and the equipment to be installed during the construction of the power station. To finish this part, an economic and environmental study is conducted to verify the feasibility of the construction of the plant. The third part will analyze the 0321 power supply at CENTROSUR network in its current status as well as the admission of the distributed generation plant, using the simulation software for electrical distribution networks (CYMDIST). The analysis will focus on the voltage profiles obtained along the power supply, the level of losses, short circuit currents for different types of failures, current levels which take a census of protection devices of the plant and the power supply, the current contributions from the plant and the power supply in case of failures. Finally, it is presented the coordination and calibration of protection equipment for the interconnection of the plant based on the IEEE Std 1547-2008 standard.
