    Causas que intervienen en el inicio de las relaciones sexuales en los adolescentes del Colegio Manuela Garaicoa de Calderón de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2016

    BACKGROUND: Several studies as Diego Caballero “Conocimientos elementales sobre educación sexual en alumnos de una escuela secundaria básica Urbana” in 2010; in “Habana - Cuba” the age of onset of active sexuality is at age 14, and television is principal medium where they learn about sexual relation. GENERAL AIM / GENERAL OBJETIVE: Determine causes intervening in the onset of sexual relations in adolescents in high school "Manuela Garaicoa Calderon” of Cuenca city, 2016. METHOLOGY: This was a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study in the high school, "Manuela Garaicoa Calderon” of Cuenca city. The universe was 1367 students. The final sample size was 247 adolescents data obtained through stratified formula. They applied surveys, system SPSS V23 used for analysis: frequency tables and percentages, which establishes correlation and prevalence of causes. RESULTS: It was determined that 61.1% of students age between 14 to 18 year of age, started their sexual relations: represented curiosity 29,8% and pressure couple 28,5%; these being the most representative percentages; indicating that there is a lack of adequate information about sexual relations and reproduction in adolescents. 18.2% for love, 15,9% alcohol and psychotropic substances and 6,6% pressure friends.
