    Prevalencia del trastorno de ansiedad y factores asociados en adolescentes de octavo, noveno y décimo de educación básica en la parroquia El Vecino de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2011

    Objetive To determine the prevalence of anxiety disorder and associated factors in adolescents in eighth, ninth and tenth level of basic schools in the neighborhood El Vecino of the city of Cuenca, 2011. Methodology A transversal study was made with a universe of 1958 students of the neighborhood El Vecino of the city of Cuenca, and using the statistical program Epidat 3.1, a sample of 500 students. To determine the prevalence of anxiety disorder and that population we did it by applying the STAI test, FF-SIL and socio-demographic form. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using Excel and SPSS software. Results The prevalence of mild anxiety corresponds to 12.6%, a moderate 63.6% anxiety that must be monitored and 23.8% of severe anxiety. This value was positively associated with female gender, with age, to have a moderately functional family of married parents living together, living in an urban area and migration factor was association with severe anxiety disorder. Conclusion The prevalence of severe anxiety was 23.8%, and then this value is four times best that the prevalence found in other studies
