Item Valoración de la tolerancia al ejercicio en niños de la Escuela San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues. 2019(Universidad de Cuenca, 2019-07-01) Carangui Reinoso, Johanna Lisbeth; León Japa, Lorena del Carmen; Suárez Peñafiel, Pedro FernandoBackground: The World Health Organization (WHO) considers physical activity as the main factor that intervenes in the health status of people. In childhood it contributes to weight loss; strengthens the skeletal muscle system, improves concentration and memory; Despite its multiple benefits, there are factors that prevent its regular practice such as: inappropriate nutrition, interest in passive activities such as Internet, television and video games. In addition, problems of malnutrition are present in the world population, which according to WHO produce high mortality and morbidity rates. For these characteristics it is necessary to identify the tolerance to physical exercise in relation to the Body Mass Index present in children. General Objective: To determine the tolerance to physical exercise in children of the fifth and sixth years of basic general education with respect to the Body Mass Index in the School San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues. 2019 Methodology: A prospective descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, the Six Minute Walk Test was applied, after obtaining the Body Mass Index. The results will be presented by frequency tables, percentage, central tendency measures and dispersion measures. Use of results: In our population; 46.3% were male and 53.7% female, the mean age was 10 years. The mean BMI was 19.09. The average of meters walked was 507.07, surpassing the average of the Lower Normality Limit, which was 494.29.
