    Estudio comparativo de traumatismo de tórax en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso y el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga I.E.S.S.1991-1995

    A comparative, retrospective study was performed in a total of 118 patients with thoracic trauma in the hospital IESS. [Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security] 46 patients and HVCM [Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital] 72 patients over a period of five years [1991-1995]. The ethereal predominant group is between 20-39 years with an average age of 32.4, corresponding to HVCM, while the IESS is located 40-50 years with an average age of 44.7. Being the most frequent male, no significant differences exist between the two institutions. Rural area correspond to the 52.4 percent level HVCM While 63 percent are in urban areas corresponding to IESS. Within the class we observed that the most affected are the poor and lower working, especially in the HVCM Detected as more frequent in the thoracic trauma in HVCM etiologic agent, the stab with 38.9 percent, followed by traffic accidents with 27.8 percent and the IESS, a predominance of traffic accidents was detected with a 39.1 percent, surpassing even the other causes the comparison group, it should be noted that a HVCM 88.9 percent, and 47.8 percent of patients IESS not have complete data on medical records
