There is not much information on sludge stabilization ponds much less research to gravity thickeners for this type of sludge, so this study represents an important contribution. This paper presents an evaluation of the performance of gravity thickeners to Plant Wastewater Treatment of Ucubamba under different regimes of operation, in which analyzes the solid collection efficiency, stratigraphy to the bottom of the unit and loads design verification. The studies were conducted based on the input samples, at the bottom and in the supernatant of the thickener, in all samples examined the percentage of total solids, also taken into account the temperature of the samples and quantified solid waste on certain days. The results show that you can reach concentrations of total solids in the bottom of the thickener, greater than those described in the literature, also show a high dependence of the dredging operation for optimal system performance and thus to comply with the standards established in project designs. Information obtained serve for handling gravity thickeners and future designs treatment plants extracted sludge stabilization pond.
