    Influencia de la televisión en el rendimiento escolar y estado nutricional de los niños y niñas de la escuela Manuel Muñoz Cueva de la ciudad de Cuenca. 2001-2002

    The main influence of television is its overly active role in shaping the behavior of children without any mediation of reflection against the manipulation of the media. This paper studies the influence of television on school performance and nutritional status of children in the school Manuel Muñoz Cave Cuenca. In 77 children, aged; 7 and 12 years, were studied variables; old TV time, programming type, influence of children, family roles, family socioeconomic status, nutritional status and school performance. Results 98.7 percent of households are lower class and middle; 96.1 percent have television, the most watched programs: novels, cartoons and sitcoms. 55 percent are malnourished, regardless of the number of hours they see telvisión; We attribute this fact to a multi-causal factor. 73 percent have high and good school performance; considering their influence to maternal care, as 52 of 77 children in their care
