    Evaluación de la psicomotricidad en niños y niñas de 4 a 5 años de la Unidad Educativa Sayausi. Cuenca 2022

    Background: Psychomotor problems in preschoolers are frequent and of great impact for the child, family and society, causing motor, cognitive and emotional effects. These problems can be transitory or permanent, triggering a disability. In order to prevent this condition, early detection and later an adequate intervention is required. The Psychomotor Evaluation Scale allows detecting a high, medium or low psychomotor profile according to each child's abilities and development. Objective: To determine the psychomotor profile in children from 4 to 5 years old of the Sayausí Educational Unit, by means of the "Psychomotor Evaluation Scale in Preschool". Methodology: The present research work was carried out with a descriptive, prospective approach that was developed in the "Sayausí" Educational Unit located in the city of Cuenca, with a population of 102 children between the ages of 4 to 5 years, applying the EPP Test directly on the children. The data processing was carried out using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS free version of the statistical program, and the Chi-square test was used to determine statistical significance. Results: Based on the results, the psychomotor profile in children from 4 to 5 years of age, the normal level predominates in all the areas evaluated by the scale. In the area of Locomotion with 67.6%; in the area of positions with 59.8%; in the area of knowledge of the body schema they present 58.8%; hand coordination 57.8%; arm coordination 52.9%; in the area of balance and leg coordination they present 47.1%. Conclusion: The application of the Psychomotor Evaluation Scale in Preschool, allowed us to know that the majority of the study population of the present project is at a normal level of development
