    Embarazos no deseados y factores de riesgo en adolescentes gestantes que acuden al subcentro de salud de Ricaurte, diciembre 2009-julio 2010

    Objective: In the present investigation was to determine the percentage of unwanted pregnancy and risk factors in pregnant teens who come to the Health Sub-center Ricaurte "in December 2009 to July 2010. Materials and methods: A cross sectional study, we worked with a sample of 100 pregnant teenagers who attended the SCS Ricaurte in the months of December 2009 - April 2010. Results: The prevalence of unwanted pregnancy was 90%, 59% between 15 and 17 years, 46% in a stable, 57% in urban areas, 56% in primary education, 28% without any contraception, 42% are to an extended family, 55% were nulliparous, 85% had a normal weight for gestational age, 54% had suboptimal antenatal care. Conclusions: The teenage pregnancy almost all are unwanted (90%) Constitutes a risk factor for the lack of contraceptive use, number of prenatal care is poor in 54% of adolescents.

    Estudio del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad en los niños y niñas de la Escuela Cazadores de los Ríos parroquia Victoria del Portete, Cuenca 2010-2011

    OBJECTIVE: The investigation was to Determine the prevalence of the low weight, overweight and obesity in niños/as of the School Cazadores de los Ríos of the Cuenca city.-This investigation comprises of the project. Study of the nutritional state of the children of basic education of the Cuenca city. 2010 - 2011. Impelled by the School of Infirmary of the Universidad de Cuenca.-in which students participate, graduate and educational from this school. MATERIAL AND METHOD: One is a study of cross section that allowed to determine the prevalence us of malnutrition in niños/as of the School.- Universe: Niños/as registered in school year 2010-2011 was constituted by 297.- SAMPLE: Niños/as worked with a sample of of 75, included between the second and seventh of basic, obtained with the statistical formula.- TECHNIQUES AND INSTRUMENTS: Interview that were realized to the parents of family of niños/as investigated and anthropometric measurement. Instruments that were used are: • The tables of Index of Corporal Mass (IMC) • The curves of growth NCHS • Form of surveys on the socioeconomic condition.- RESULTS: they demonstrate that the 22,66% of niños/as present/display low weight, 6.66% has overweight related to the type of feeding, sedentary style of life and the 69,33% correspond to niños/as of normal weight.- CONCLUSION: the found nutritional problems are related to socioeconomic conditions, nutritional styles of life, habits and level of access to the nutrients.AU

    Valoración del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad en los estudiantes del Colegio Nacional Manuel Córdova Galarza del cantón Cuenca 2010-2011

    A good state nutritional help to the good physical development and intellectual and it contributes to assure a long and healthy life, The purpose of this work was to evaluate the nutritional state and the socioeconomic factors of the students of basic education of the school Manuel Córdova Galarza of the City of Cuenca, With the objectives of: 1) to determine the first floor weight, on weight and obesity in the students of the College Manuel Córdova Galarza 2) to value the nutritional state of the students of the College Manuel Córdova Galarza 3) to relate the socioeconomic conditions of the family of the students of the College Manuel Córdova Galarza. The investigation applied in this study was of quantitative type, with design of charts and statistical graphics, to more than its interpretation, Incorporated with an universe of 376 students with a sample of 79 students, the utilized instruments were scale, metric tape, registration form, forms IMC for the elaboration of charts and statistical squares was used the programs of Microsoft Office Word and Excel. He/she was carried out taking of having measured antropométricas in the students of the aforementioned College, a survey was Also administered to the parents of the students to gather socioeconomic, cultural data, Using the parameters of IMC was found that the students' masculine sex 9,30%, 5,56% of students of feminine sex was inside in percentiles from 5 to 25 presenting malnutrition; 53,49% of students masculine sex, 72,22% of feminine sex was in the percentiles from 25 to 75 normal nutritional state, 13,95% of students masculine sex, and 19,44% of feminine sex they presented overweight, and l23,26% of students masculine sex, and 2,78% of feminine sex they presented obesity. Among the most influential socioeconomic factors he/she was the economic entrance of the family it was around 100 to 200 dollars securities that it not even supplies the basic basket, and he/she was also that the educational level of the alone parents reached in its majority to finish the primeria, influencing in a great way in the family economy, it was found that habit of eating among foods of the families is in way balanced in its majority.

    Valoración del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad de los niños/as de la Escuela Fiscal Mixta Abelardo Tamariz Crespo de la Parroquia Totoracocha del cantón Cuenca 2010-2011

    Objective: To determine the low weight, overweight and obesity in children of the fiscal School mixed “Abelardo Tamariz Crespo'' of the Totoracocha parish of the Canton Cuenca. 2010 - 2011. Material and method: In the investigation we used the descriptive study for the determination of malnutrition of the /as children of the school “Abelardo Tamariz Crespo'' of the Canton Cuenca. 2010 - 2011. The universe was constituted by (538) young /as registered in school the 2010-2011, formulates applying it obtained the sample of (84) students. Techniques and instruments The investigation techniques that we used were the following:  The interview realizing it through form of data collection that was sent to the parents of family of the /as children investigated to collect the information on socioeconomic condition, education, health and nutrition.  Anthropometric Valuation by means of the taking of weight and carves the children. The instruments that were used are:  The tables of index of corporal mass (IMC).  The curves of growth of the NCHS.  Form of survey on the socioeconomic condition. Results: The results of investigation shows that 25% of the children present/display low weight, followed of 21,4% of overweight and 6% of obesity, nutritional problems who are related to the socioeconomic situation of the parents, producing an inadequate nutrition in the children in early ages what delays to the growth and development, as well as in the scholastic yield.
