Modern architecture does not interpret preexistences as a norm or rule to be submitted to, but rather determines the relationships of the elements that make it up; therefore, it coexists with climatic, geographic, topographic, and sociocultural factors, aspects that contribute to the conception of the object's form. However, the research focuses on studying the relationships of the criteria of modern architecture with the elements of the place, through adequate recognition of the same, they generate objects with identity and originality; an unavoidable process when designing architecture. To address the research on the design strategies of the building and the pla-ce, it is necessary to interpret Cristina Gastón methodology (Mies the pro-ject as a revelation of the place and the modern project research guidelines). methodology that will allow us to know the conception process of the former Banco Popular building, now EERSA, by Ramiro Pérez in 1968 and the for-mer Provincial Council of Chimborazo by Oswaldo Muños Mariño in 1972. Finally, the research focuses on the digital reconstruction of the buildings and the place; Using photographic resources from the period, original plans, and a photogrammetric survey of the site using a drone, this information will allow us to approach the reality and conception of the buildings; through aesthetic judgment, the strategies and criteria of modern architecture used in the design of the buil-dings are determined.
