In Ecuador, within the Land planning processes, risk management has already begun to be considered as an element that must be studied when developing land planning instruments; however, this has been limited to a process of theoretical documentation and unstructured historical information of urban development. That is why the objective of this thesis is to develop a methodological proposal that integrates flood risk management in the Land Planning of Babahoyo city. In this context, the thesis is developed with a non-experimental research approach of a longitudinal type, which allows the information collected on the case study and its land planning to be processed in an appropriate way according to the needs that were presented in its analysis and discussion, starting from the construction of a critical theoretical framework and case analysis, in order to propose a viable proposal for the area of study. A methodological plurality is proposed with a participatory approach that considers in an integral way the factors presented by the territory, as well as the actions and proposals that respond to the biophysical conditions and social aspirations of the sector. This methodology can be considered a technical contribution to the management of flood risk planning with the capacity to replicate in the various Cantones land planning processes in the country.

(2014) Calle Barros, Diego Fernando; Orellana Alvear, Boris Adrián
The work scene in which the modern architect is immersed differs greatly from the traditional imagery we have created about this profession. It’s been a long time since pencils, rules and boards were replaced by software at facilitate architectural practice to simplify the tasks before the architect had to do on paper on his desk job. This replacement also means developing the necessary qualities of an architect, who now uses the technology not only as a simplifying tool to move to clean their ideas, but also optimizing their work. Because the variety of digital platforms made for designing has diversified considerably in recent decades. This work is dedicated to assessing which of these options actually optimizes the work of the modern architect.
